FBI fingerprints in Spain: book your appointment in Alicante

If a Spanish office asks you for an FBI background check, the first step is a clean set of fingerprints. We take them at our office, Calle Navas 25, Alicante, in FD-258 format and by appointment. We are a private fingerprinting service: not an official body, and the report is issued by the FBI.

When Spanish authorities ask for an FBI background check

  • Residency applications (initial or renewal) and TIE card issuance or modification
  • Long-term residency or the EU long-term permit
  • Citizenship and nationality processes
  • Marriage registration before the Spanish Civil Registry and family reunification
  • Employment, especially teaching and regulated professions, and background checks for employers or public bodies

The document must be issued by the FBI, apostilled by the US Department of State and, if the office requires it, sworn-translated into Spanish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get my fingerprints taken in Alicante?
Yes. We take FBI-compliant FD-258 fingerprints at our office, Calle Navas 25, Alicante, by appointment. No trip to a US consulate or to the United States is needed.
Is this an official service?
No. We are a private company (Velorix SL, trading as Relocation Centers). We take the fingerprints and coordinate the process; the report is issued by the FBI and the apostille by the US Department of State.
Do I have to mail fingerprint cards to the US?
No. Your prints are sent digitally to the FBI, which is faster and avoids lost or rejected cards.
How long does the whole process take?
The FBI and the US Department of State set the pace, and we cannot guarantee dates. According to our US partner's estimates, the whole process can take from about three weeks in the best case. We give you an estimated date with the quote. Immigration deadlines are strict, so start as soon as your office asks for the document.
Why does my FBI report need an apostille?
Spain is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention: a foreign public document is only recognised by Spanish authorities once it carries an apostille from the issuing country; for an FBI report, the US Department of State.
Will I need a sworn translation?
Often yes: most immigration offices and registries ask for a traducción jurada into Spanish, done by a translator authorised by the Spanish Foreign Ministry (MAEC); a certified translation made in the US is not accepted. If you are not sure, tell us which office asked for the document and we'll check with you.
How much does it cost?
We send a fixed quote before we start, depending on how many people there are and whether you need a sworn translation and paper delivery. Ask for it on WhatsApp or book your fingerprint appointment.
Who does each part of the service?
We take the fingerprints in Alicante and coordinate your file. The FBI request, the apostille, the translation and paper delivery are handled by a specialised partner based in the United States; we can give you its details with the quote. We receive a referral commission.
What happens to my fingerprint data?
Fingerprints are biometric data, a special category under the GDPR. We capture them only with your explicit written consent, transmit them encrypted to our US partner for submission to the FBI, and delete them from our capture device once transmitted. You can withdraw your consent at any time, which may prevent the check from being completed. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Can you send the report to my lawyer or gestoría?
Yes: to your home, your immigration lawyer, your employer, your gestoría or a consulate, anywhere in Spain. And yes, you can start the process while already living in Spain: that is exactly who this service is for.
